My Story
My journey into esthetics began as a client long before it became a career.
For most of my life, I struggled with acne, scarring, and persistent post-inflammatory erythema. I spent years moving between dermatology offices and med spas, trying aggressive treatments that promised fast results. While some offered temporary improvement, nothing ever felt like a complete solution. Over time, it became clear that I wasn’t addressing the root of my skin concern, but instead, I was managing flare-ups, and placing band-aids on issues that would resurface later in different ways. That frustration is what led me to search for a different approach.
Before I found esthetics, I was pursuing chemical engineering. I was drawn to the science behind how things work, yet I found myself wanting a career that was more personal, one where science could directly improve someone’s day-to-day life. Esthetics became the place where everything overlapped.
My own history with skin issues, combined with my love for skin chemistry and Korean-inspired skin philosophies, is what ultimately shaped MY Skin Studio. My approach is rooted in long-term skin health, not quick fixes, prioritizing barrier integrity, calming inflammation, and meeting the skin where it is.

My Approach
While practicing esthetics in Hawai'i, I discovered Korean skincare and its philosophy around skin health. What stood out immediately was how different it felt from what I had experienced: an emphasis on barrier repair, hydration, inflammation control, and consistency over intensity. Rather than forcing change, Korean skin philosophy focuses on supporting the skin so it can function optimally on its own. For the first time, skin care felt sustainable, respectful, and thoughtful.
I created this space for clients who want to understand their skin, not fight it. Because real change doesn’t come from doing more, it comes from doing what the skin truly needs.
